A state-of-the-art hospital that will offer leading-edge treatments to patients from Central Florida and around the globe is coming to Lake Nona in Central Florida. Services at the 10-story hospital will include men’s health, bariatrics, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics and more. The hospital will also feature an incisionless surgical suite, where innovative techniques will include using ultrasound to destroy tumors and to stop tremors in patients with Parkinson’s disease.

In the latest episode of the Inspiring Wholeness podcast, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer joins Doug Harcombe, CEO, AdventHealth Central Florida South Market/AdventHealth Lake Nona, to talk about plans for the “Medical City” as well as population growth, access to care, health tourism, innovation and the power of collaborative endeavors.
With a focus on fostering wellness and community, Lake Nona is perfect for AdventHealth’s new “hospital of the future,” which is expected to open in 2026, according to Harcombe. “If you want the world’s most recognized physician or high-quality health care, you don’t have to go anywhere else.”
AdventHealth Lake Nona will have 80 beds initially, with the capacity to expand to 320. The 25-acre campus will also feature a lake promenade, an event lawn, an amphitheater, a medical office building, and retail and dining options.
Dyer added, “We’ve become a medical destination, and it’s combined in a couple of ways. We have high quality health care. If you’re in Orlando, you don’t need to search anywhere else for whatever medical treatment you may need.”
Among other topics, the conversation explores:
- AdventHealth’s goal to become a health care destination for patients from around the world
- Integrating innovative technology, from surgical robotic platforms to incisionless surgeries, into patient care
- Partnerships that are designed to help businesses thrive while strengthening the quality of life for everyone
