Adventist Health System has named Mark Newmyer to the position of Vice President of Enterprise Communications.
In this role, Newmyer will provide strategic communications direction across the health system and develop and execute internal, external, executive and Seventh-day Adventist constituent communication strategies that further the mission, culture, growth and business goals of the organization. Newmyer will report to David Banks, executive vice president and chief strategy officer for Adventist Health System. "Mark's deep background in Seventh-day Adventist health care and diverse experience in communications, marketing, business development, strategic planning, operations and faith-based television and internet entertainment will serve our organization well as he leads the communications strategy and stakeholder engagement efforts for our transition to AdventHealth, said Banks.
Prior to joining Adventist Health System, Newmyer held various roles at the market, region and system level for Adventist Health, based in Roseville, California. Most recently he served as the market vice president for business development for Adventist Health Bakersfield and Tehachapi Valley in California. He also served as senior vice president for strategic operations at Adventist Health Simi Valley, vice president for business development at Adventist Health White Memorial in Los Angeles, and vice president of marketing for the Southern California Region of Adventist Health.
In addition, Newmyer developed and launched a faith-based entertainment television network on multiple platforms. "I have always had great respect and admiration for Adventist Health System and I am excited to now have an opportunity to contribute to the organization's success by helping to strengthen the communications in support of its strategic initiatives," said Newmyer.
Newmyer received his Bachelor of Science in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin, and his MBA from the University of Phoenix. His wife, Wendy, is a fifth and sixth-grade teacher, and they have three children, a recent college graduate, a college student and a high school student. Newmyer enjoys travel, sports, growing tomatoes, and making pizza and pasta from scratch.
