Michelle Givens, president/CEO for Adventist Care Centers (ACC), has been promoted to also serve as senior vice president of post-acute care for Adventist Health System (AHS). In addition to leading Adventist Care Centers, AHS's long-term care organization that is made up of 12 skilled nursing centers in three states, Givens will now also provide leadership and direction for post-acute services for Adventist Health System to include home health, hospice and other services in the post-acute continuum as well as the post-acute revenue cycle. Givens will report to Sandra Johnson, executive vice president and chief administrative officer for Adventist Health System.
'Michelle has done an exceptional job leading Adventist Care Centers, and I look forward to having her at the helm of our post-acute network as Adventist Health System takes additional steps to fully integrate our care delivery network and partner with our patients throughout their lifelong health journey,' said Johnson.
Givens began her career with ACC more than 25 years ago as an administrative intern and progressed into roles including administrator, regional director of operations and president/CEO. Givens earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of South Florida, a bachelor's degree in long-term care administration from Southern Adventist University and a master's degree in business administration and health care administration from Southern Adventist University.
'I am truly honored to serve in this position as we further connect our acute and post-acute services to deliver consumer-centric coordinated care across our network,' said Givens. 'I feel blessed to work with such an exceptional team focused on our mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ through our passion for post-acute care.'
Givens has served the Florida Health Care Association District II in various roles including secretary, treasurer, vice president and president. She is also a member of Southern Adventist University's long-term care advisory board, and an adjunct professor for Southern Adventist University's long-term care program.
In her free time, Givens and her husband John enjoy boating, off-road cycles and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
