Dr. Harvinder Arora, interventional cardiologist
AdventHealth Medical Group has added Dr. Harvinder Arora, a nationally recognized interventional cardiologist, to its team at AdventHealth Waterman.
Arora is known for treating some of the most complex heart conditions. He’s cared for patients across the country, taught the next generation of doctors, and helped write the book—literally—on treating serious cardiac disease. Now, he’s seeing patients right here in Tavares and Leesburg.
AdventHealth Medical Group is a network of nearly 450 doctors and advanced care providers offering primary and specialty care across Flagler, Lake, Sumter and Volusia counties. In the past year alone, the group has welcomed more than 100 new physicians and practitioners to the region to help meet the growing health needs of local communities.
“Dr. Arora brings not just impressive credentials, but a real gift for connecting with patients in ways that matter,” said Abel Biri, AdventHealth Waterman president and CEO. “He's the kind of doctor you want in the room when decisions matter—steady hands, sharp mind, kind heart.”
Arora brings more than 20 years of experience treating both heart and blood vessel conditions. He’s helped patients who needed everything from stents and pacemakers to valve procedures and advanced imaging. He’s also served as a professor, research author and editor, contributing to ongoing research and innovation in the field.
But he says what matters most is connection.
“I’ve worked in major hospitals and taught at universities, but there’s nothing more important than sitting across from a patient and listening,” said Arora. “Good medicine starts with understanding the whole person such as their health, their story, and what matters to them.”
Originally trained in India, Arora went on to earn a master’s degree in public health from Harvard before completing advanced training in Texas. His deep knowledge and hands-on experience make him especially skilled at treating complex cases.
Arora is now accepting new patients at AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiology in Tavares and Leesburg. To reach his office, call Call352-742-1171.
