DAVENPORT, Fla., — AdventHealth Heart of Florida and AdventHealth Polk Foundation leaders are delighted to unveil a new courtesy visitor shuttle meant to enhance accessibility and comfort for patients.
The new shuttle debuted during a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, April 8 and will now transport patients and visitors between the guest parking area, the main entrance and ER, so they don’t have to walk as far to access the hospital.
“We are delighted to have this new addition to the AdventHealth Heart of Florida campus which will help enhance the hospital experience for patients and visitors by making their trip to and from their cars safer and easier,” said AdventHealth Polk President and CEO Tim Clark. “This friendly, accommodating service is something we’ve been working to add, and we’re thrilled for it to get started immediately.”
The shuttle is an AdventHealth Polk Foundation project and longtime AdventHealth partner, HOAR Construction, graciously gifted the funds for the shuttle.
“We are extremely grateful for the generosity of our donor who helped make this project a reality,” said Leigh Ann Wynn, Executive Director of the AdventHealth Polk Foundation. “It’s an amazing example of just how thoughtful and considerate so many in our community are and just how much they want to help others.”
