Royce Brown has been named president and CEO for AdventHealth Lake Wales, effective May 24. Brown will report to Brian Adams, president and CEO for AdventHealth Heart of Florida and market CEO for Polk County.
In this role, Brown will provide executive leadership and oversee the day-to-day operations of AdventHealth Lake Wales, working with his team to ensure the delivery of care throughout the Lake Wales community.
“Royce is a solutions-driven, forward-thinking leader who has proven over the years his ability to effectively lead provider and care teams aligned around our mission and commitment to excellence,” said Terry Shaw, president/CEO for AdventHealth. “I’m confident his passion and expertise will further our delivery of faith-based, whole-person care across the community of Lake Wales.”
Brown joined AdventHealth in 2005 and served in various leadership roles throughout his career, including executive director of practice operations for AdventHealth Medical Group’s (AHMG) urology, pediatric cardiac surgery and pediatric cardiology service lines. Most recently, Brown served as vice president of operations for AdventHealth North Pinellas located in Tarpon Springs, Florida. In this role, he was responsible for all hospital operations and helped to oversee $40 million dollars of hospital expansion and infrastructure planning initiatives.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to work with the exceptional team at AdventHealth Lake Wales,” said Brown. “I look forward to the challenge of leading God’s work with every person and every patient that comes into our hospital. There is no greater calling in life than helping and serving others in their most vulnerable times.”
Brown has a bachelor’s in mass communications and public relations as well as a minor in business administration from Southern Adventist University. He also obtained his master’s degree in health administration from Webster University. Brown is currently enrolled in AdventHealth’s Executive Leadership Program and is a graduate of the Central Florida Division’s Physician Leadership Development Program.
Brown and his wife Sharon, who also works at AdventHealth, have two girls, Mia (7) and Harper (3). In his spare time, Brown enjoys playing golf, exercising, reading, writing and spending time with his family.
