Find Freedom From Pain
- Diagnosing the Pain in Your Extremities
-
Sometimes pain in your extremities develops over time, coming and going unpredictably. Other times, it happens suddenly. Your path to pain relief starts here, with an accurate diagnosis. To find the root cause of the pain in your limbs, hands or feet, the expert team at AdventHealth will conduct a thorough physical and medical-history exam. This includes a comprehensive evaluation of your muscle strength, reflexes, and sensitivity in affected areas. The exam can also help diagnose underlying conditions (e.g., pinched nerves) that contribute to extremity pain.
We want to make sure you have clarity and reassurance so, for the most accurate diagnosis, we may also perform imaging tests, including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, or electromyography. This may sometimes call for a spinal injection to give you more relief. No matter the diagnosis, your team will be here, keeping you comfortable and ensuring you're informed.
- Know the Whole Story About Your Extremity Pain
-
Whole-person care addresses every part of you, including your physical, emotional, and spiritual health. When it comes to extremity pain, it also literally means we look at your entire body, because the pain, tingling, or numbness in your hands, fingers, feet, or toes could mean there’s a problem elsewhere. For example, when you have an irritated nerve, you might feel pain anywhere along that nerve, including at the ends. Whether your nerve is pinched, compressed, or irritated, we’re here to identify the cause of the pain in your extremities, and help you find relief.

When you're in pain, that pain takes over. It's a constant interruption, persistent and unwelcome. At AdventHealth, we're here to help erase the pain in you extremities. Depending on how severe your discomfort is — and where your pinched nerve is located — your journey toward relief will usually involve non-surgical care. You’ll have plenty of treatment options for the pain in your arms, legs, hands or feet, from prescription medications and injections to targeted physical therapy and exercise.
More severe pain in your extremities may require surgery, but trust that we will use minimally invasive procedures whenever possible.
