Shaffer-Maura

Maura Rodriguez, PharmD

Hometown: El Paso, TX
Pharmacy School: Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center

Dr. Rodriguez chose to pursue a residency at AdventHealth Orlando because while it does offer an impressive variety of rotations surrounded by top tier healthcare providers, it also provides a culture of community to provide the best care to both its patients and employees. AdventHealth Orlando gave Maura the resources to continue her education by pursing an MBA/MHA dual degree and the opportunity to work with leaders across the Central Florida Division. The potential of being the first divisional PGY1/2 Health-Systems Pharmacy Administration & Leadership resident instantly intrigued her because she could help pioneer an already well-established program for future residents interested in administration and learn simultaneously. She enjoys exploring the city through scenic walks with her husband, watching Disney movies, and trying both local restaurants and coffee shops during her free time. Dr. Rodriguez is excited to continue expanding her knowledge of pharmacy operations, understanding different workflows, and refining her leadership skills during the second year of residency. Following her two-year residency, Dr. Rodriguez hopes to have obtained her MBA/MHA through the Stetson/AdventHealth University dual degree program and utilize her training to receive a job offer that involves practicing pharmacy, administrative duties, and empowering a team of pharmacists.

Dr. Bekheit chose AdventHealth for residency because of its teams of dedicated mentors committed to supporting the growth of their residents throughout the program. Veronica has been living in Orlando for the past few years and enjoys going to Disney Springs and Universal City Walk to enjoy their food, shopping, and entertainment. Veronica's career goals post-residency is to use her background in academia, her newly equipped clinical knowledge, and her MHA/MBA education to contribute to an organization that strives for excellence in patient care and pharmacy practice.
