Dr. Thomas received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer University’s College of Pharmacy in 2016. She completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Saint Joseph’s/Candler Health System in Savannah, GA along with a Pharmacy Postgraduate Teaching Certificate Program through the University of Georgia. During this time, she developed a deep interest and appreciation for the area of Critical Care Medicine. She went on to complete a PGY-2 Critical Care Residency at AdventHealth Orlando and then joined the staff as a Critical Care Pharmacy Specialist.

Dr. Thomas has particular interest in multiple areas including transplant, surgery, hemodynamics, and pulmonary diseases. She is an active member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), and Georgia Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (GSHP). Dr. Thomas also has an interest in research and is seeking publication on multiple research projects and case reports.

Pharmacy Residency Preceptor Patricia Louzon

Patricia Louzon, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP, FCCM

Dr. Patricia Louzon received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in 2007. She completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency and a PGY-2 Critical Care Specialty Residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, FL.

Dr. Louzon joined AdventHealth Orlando in 2009 as a Critical Care Clinical Specialist. She moved into the position of Clinical Manager of Critical Care and Emergency Department Pharmacy Division in 2013 and maintains a practice in the Medical ICU. Dr. Louzon serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College of pharmacy, where she lectures on Pulmonary Hypertension, has facilitated a Critical Care Elective, and was named Preceptor of the Year in 2014. Her interest areas include pharmacist sedation management, for which she received an ASHP Best Practice Award in 2015, pulmonary hypertension, and ICU sleep. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Florida Society of Health System pharmacists (FSHP) and is a past-president of CFSHP. Dr. Louzon is a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine, active member of SCCM and chair-elect of the SCCM Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology Program Committee. Articles and abstracts by Dr. Louzon have been published in Critical Care Medicine, Annals of Pharmacotherapy, American Journal of Infection Control, American Journal of Emergency Medicine, BMJ Respiratory and Hospital Pharmacy.

Pharmacy Residency Preceptor Ramy Girgis

Ramy Girgis, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP

Dr. Girgis graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in May 2008. He joined AdventHealth Orlando in 2009. He has specialized training in the critically ill through the ASHP Foundation Critical Care traineeship program at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Girgis is also double board certified as he is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist as well as a Board Certified Critical Care Pharmacist. Additionally, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College Of Pharmacy where he serves as a student mentor. Dr. Girgis, along with colleagues, is a recipient of ASHP best practice award in 2015. He is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine as well as the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

Pharmacy Residency Preceptor Otsanya Ochogbu

Otsanya Ochogbu, PharmD, BCCCP

Otsanya Ochogbu obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University Of Houston College Of Pharmacy. She then went on to complete a PGY-1 Pharmacy practice residency at CHI St. Luke’s Health - Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston, Texas. She then went on to complete a PGY-2 in Critical Care Pharmacy at the University of Chicago Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Following completion of her residency training, she began practicing at AdventHealth Orlando as the Critical care pharmacist in the cardiac intensive care unit. Her clinical interests include advanced hemodynamics, sedation/delirium management and mechanical circulatory supports.

Pharmacy Residency Preceptor Eric Pyles

Eric C. Pyles, PharmD, BCCCP

Dr. Pyles received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in 2014, where he also participated in a year-long clerkship program through UF Health Shands. He completed the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at the UF Health Jacksonville, during this time developing a deep interest and appreciation for the area of Critical Care Medicine. He went on to complete the inaugural PGY-2 Critical Care Residency at AdventHealth Orlando, joining the staff as a Critical Care pharmacist thereafter.

While still honing his practice, Dr. Pyles has particular interest in multiple areas, including cardiology, infectious diseases, hemodynamics, and transplant. He is an active member of Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Dr. Pyles has been published in the Annals of Pharmacotherapy and is seeking further publication on multiple research projects.

Pharmacy Residency Preceptor Bibidh Subedi

Bibidh Subedi, PharmD, BCCCP

Dr. Bibidh Subedi received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Sciences with a minor in Biology from Florida State University in 2011 and earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Florida in 2015, while completing his advanced pharmacy practice experience at UF Health Shands hospital in Gainesville, Florida. After graduation, Dr. Subedi matched to do his PGY-1 pharmacy residency at Columbus Regional Health in Columbus, Georgia and PGY-2 Critical Care pharmacy residency at AdventHealth Orlando in Orlando, Florida. Currently, Dr. Subedi works as a critical care pharmacist in the Medical ICU at AdventHealth Orlando. Dr. Subedi is an active member of Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM). He is passionate about literature review and research and has published abstracts in Critical Care Medicine and original research in Hospital Pharmacy and Journal of Pharmacy Practice.

Dr. Emily To received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Toledo in 2018. She completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Honor Health Scottsdale Medical Centers in Scottsdale, AZ and received her teaching certificate through Midwestern University. She then went on to complete a PGY-2 in Critical Care Residency at AdventHealth Orlando.

Currently, Dr. To works as a critical care pharmacist in the multisystem intensive care unit at AdventHealth Orlando. Dr. To is an active member of Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Dr. To is also a clinical assistant professor at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Davide Ventura received his Doctor of Pharmacy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston in 2012. Ventura completed his PGY-1 and PGY-2 cardiology residency at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts and received his teaching certificate through Northeastern University.

Dr. Ventura joined AdventHealth Orlando in 2014 as the cardiothoracic ICU specialist and is an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), Florida Health-System Pharmacists (FSHP), and American Heart Association (AHA).

Pharmacy Residency Preceptor Jason Vilar

Jason Vilar, PharmD, BCCCP

Dr. Jason Vilar received his Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2013 from the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Aurora, Colorado. His post-graduate training consisted of PGY-1 residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. During which he has served as a Clinical Instructor of Pharmacy Practice at Wayne State Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and completed the Pharmacy Postgraduate Teaching Certificate Program. He moved on to complete a PGY-2 specialty residency in Critical Care at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. During which he has served as a Clinical Instructor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy and completed an additional Pharmacy Postgraduate Teaching Certificate Program.

Dr. Vilar joined AdventHealth Orlando in 2015 as a Clinical Specialist in Critical Care as the Neurocritical Care Specialist within the Neurology Division. He is an active member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Neurocritical Care Society (NCS). He serves as a mentor for the research committee within the Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology section of SCCM. Abstracts by Dr. Vilar have been published in SCCM, ASHP and NCS. Dr. Vilar is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. His areas of interest include ICU delirium, super refractory status epilepticus and anticoagulant/antiplatelet reversal.

Pharmacy Residency Preceptor Jim Priano

James (Jim) Priano, PharmD, BCPS

Clinical Specialist, Emergency Medicine, PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director

Dr. Jim Priano received his Doctor of Pharmacy from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA in 2013. He completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Plainview Hospital in Plainview, NY and his specialty PGY-2 in Emergency Medicine Pharmacy at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ. During this time he served as adjunct clinical faculty at Rutgers University Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy.

Dr. Priano’s clinical interests include acute analgesia and resuscitation. He is an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Dr. Priano joined AdventHealth Orlando in 2015 as an Emergency Medicine Clinical Specialist. In addition to his multiple publications, he reviews articles for the Annals of Pharmacotherapy and the Journal of Pharmacy Technology.

Pharmacy Residency Preceptor Lydia Fancher

Lydia B. Fancher, PharmD, BCPS

PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Residency Program Coordinator, Clinical Specialist, Emergency Medicine

Dr. Fancher received her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2006 from the University Of Florida College Of Pharmacy. Her professional practice has included two years of residency experience. In 2007, her PGY-1 residency was completed at John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Her specialization was obtained in 2008 by a PGY-2 residency in Emergency Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Furthering her experience she established a new pharmacist position in Orlando, Florida at Dr. Phillip's Hospital in 2008. During her five years in this position she developed the pharmacy driven medication reconciliation program, streamlined empiric antibiotic selection, collaborated on order-sets specific to emergency medicine, and was a preceptor for both APPE and IPPE students from the University Of Florida College Of Pharmacy (UF COP). Before establishing pharmacy services in the emergency department at AdventHealth Orlando in 2014 she also held a position at Sarasota Memorial Hospital as an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist. Dr. Fancher currently serves as a career coach and preceptor for APPE students at UF COP.

Dr. Fancher is an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) including the PRN emergency medicine group. She has published articles in the Journal of Emergency Nursing and Journal of Emergency Medicine. She was a reviewer for the book Safe and Effective Medication Use in the Emergency Department, authored by Victor Cohen. In addition, she participates in medical mission trips to Les Cayes, Haiti on an annual basis.

Pharmacy Residency Preceptor Sarah Minor

Sarah B. Minor, PharmD, BCPS-AQ ID

Clinical Coordinator, Antimicrobial Stewardship

Dr. Minor received her B.S. in Biological Sciences from Florida State University in 2005, followed by her Doctor of Pharmacy from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy in 2009. She completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX.

Dr. Minor joined AdventHealth in 2010 as an Internal Medicine/Infectious Diseases Clinical Specialist at the Orlando Campus. She served in that role until 2015 when she joined the pharmacy team at AdventHealth East Orlando to assist with the development of their antimicrobial stewardship program. Serving as a preceptor to both residents and students since 2011, Dr. Minor is passionate about training new pharmacists and teaching the importance of appropriate antimicrobial utilization. She currently serves as the system Clinical Coordinator for Antimicrobial Stewardship. Dr. Minor is an active member of MAD-ID, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA), and Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP).

Dr. Maka received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Butler University in 1995. She completed her Pharmacy Practice Residency at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. After completing her residency, she was the PICU clinical pharmacist at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She joined the AdventHealth for Children (formerly Florida Hospital for Children) Pharmacy Team as the PICU clinical pharmacist is 2011. In addition to he her duties as the PICU clinical pharmacist, Dr. Maka works with the pediatric liver transplant team and rounds on those patients when they are inpatient. She members of Society of Critical Care Medicine, American College of Clinical Pharmacy and an associate member of Children’s Oncology Group.

Dr. Dunn is a proud graduate of Howard University, College of Pharmacy, where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science Education from University of Florida. As she matriculated through pharmacy school, she developed a strong interest in pediatric pharmacotherapy. As a result, she completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency with a pediatric emphasis at Baptist Health/Wolfson Children’s Hospital and a PGY-2 Pediatric Pharmacy Specialty Residency at AdventHealth for Children. Dr. Dunn joined AdventHealth in 2014 and she is passionate about caring for pediatric patients. She enjoys teaching pharmacy residents and aspiring student pharmacist.
Dr. Dunn is currently a member of the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Her areas of interests include critical care and infectious disease (including HIV/AIDS).
