Dr. Zhang's decision to pursue residency at AdventHealth Orlando was influenced by his experience as a longitudinal APPE student. He was left with a positive impression of the unique opportunities available, the commitment to excellent preceptorship, and the supportive learning environment. Dr. Zhang is looking forward to build upon his clinical knowledge and skills through the variety of rotation experiences offered and creating lasting memories with his co-residents. Dr. Zhang enjoys spending time with his cats, cooking, and tinkering with computers. While Dr. Zhang may not be new to the Orlando area, he enjoys exploring the wide variety of food options as a self-proclaimed "foodie" and is looking forward to the opening of Epic Universe at Universal Orlando. Upon completion of his PGY1, Dr. Zhang will transition to his PGY2 in Pharmacy Informatics. Dr. Zhang's goal after residency is to pursue a career as an informatics pharmacist at a large health-system and aspires to utilize his training to improve patient outcomes by bridging the gap between clinical practice and health information technology.

Dr. Flick chose AdventHealth for residency because of the innovative Informatics program that would allow her to learn the intricacies of a multihospital system. Additionally, AdventHealth offered the opportunity to build a strong clinical foundation over the first year through a variety of rotations that will provide a practical framework her Informatics training. Lauren is excited to develop her understanding of pharmacy operations across large health systems and integrate that knowledge with that gained during her MHA/MBA programming over the next two years. Outside of the world of pharmacy, Lauren enjoys gardening (which is a bit different in Florida compared to Ohio) and playing video games (even though she is generally terrible at them). Lauren is looking forward to exploring Florida and trying many new restaurants in Orlando with her partner but will probably be found most evenings hanging out at home with her cats. As this will be the closest she's ever lived to the beach, she's hoping to visit the coasts a few times over the next two years. After her two-year residency, Lauren intends to obtain a job at a hospital system that allows her to leverage the extensive training received at AdventHealth to promote the efficient practice of pharmacy. She is passionate about workflow optimization and reducing both tech stress and medication errors by improving processes, and hopes to have many opportunities to do so.
