Members of the pharmacy staff provide decentralized pharmaceutical care and patient education throughout AdventHealth Orlando every day to ensure safe, accurate, and cost-effective medication therapy. Pharmacists, technicians, and residents work with institutional stakeholders, physicians, and allied professionals to improve the long-term health of acute care patients and the community. Rich traditions of practice and evidence-based excellence serve as the fundamental principles of the clinical programs and pharmacy services at AdventHealth Orlando. About Our Program
Training pharmacy residents is core to our values and beliefs and we take a personalized approach to prepare residents to lead the field. We are a large residency program which trains over 20 PGY-1 and PGY-2 pharmacy residents each year. Our program has been continuously accredited by the American Society for Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) since 1999.
During this 52-week program, the resident's focus is professional development while having full exposure to a spectrum of diverse patient populations during their learning experiences. Residents who complete the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at AHO develop the skills to assume roles as clinical pharmacists or to pursue second year post-graduate (PGY-2) training in a specialized area of practice.
