Treatment and surgery for spine ailments can be stressful and confusing. No one understands this more than Dr. Patel and the Spine Health Institute, which is why our patient care coordinator, Stephanie Guiler, is here for you every step of the way. Stephanie’s role at the institute is a vital one. She acts as a liaison between the physician and patient, thoroughly communicating questions and concerns they may have. She also serves as a navigator throughout the patient’s range of care, making sure they have a point of contact and someone to reach out to during their treatments.

“I am blessed that I get to work with patients and be a vital part of their healing process,” Stephanie said. “It is very important to me to make sure that every patient feels important when they walk into the Spine Health Institute.”

Being able to help others and make a difference in their treatment is what Stephanie loves most about her job, “I like making patients feel comfortable and at ease by having someone to talk to.”

Stephanie also helped launch the first monthly multidisciplinary conference at the Spine Health Institute. This meetings brings our team of physicians, physical therapists, our dietician and our care coordinator together to engage in planned discussions regarding our patient’s identified needs and important issues in an effort to create resolutions and effective treatment outcomes.

“What sets the Spine Health Institute apart is Dr. Patel's approach to creating a comprehensive program that is patient focused,” she said.

This comprehensive program makes it easier for the patient by providing an all-inclusive facility for their spine health needs, including a patient care coordinator who will be with them throughout their treatment.

“I stay in touch with them from the moment they walk in, through discharge and follow up. I get to see how our team has made a difference from beginning to end.”
