Corns

Corns are rough, thick calluses that form on the toes, in between the toes or on the side of the feet. They’re usually caused by pressure on the skin due to certain conditions or improper footwear. Corns can cause pain, discomfort and irritation if not treated, and can result in the development of claw toe or hammertoe and permanent deformity. Most corns can be treated conservatively with lifestyle adjustments such as wearing appropriate shoes, and over-the-counter or prescription medicine. Larger corns may require special medical procedures in order to trim, scrape or completely remove them.
