Cyst and Tumor Removal

Cysts and tumors may or may not be indicative of a cancerous condition that requires surgical removal. A biopsy of the suspicious area will determine whether the suspicious growth is malignant or benign, with implications for how it will be treated. Often, surgical removal of a cancerous cyst or tumor can be accomplished via a minimally invasive procedure that may be preceded or followed by radiation therapy, chemotherapy or another form of treatment aimed at ensuring the complete elimination of the cancer and discouraging its return. If you have a concerning cyst or tumor that requires removal, you may be referred to a general surgeon who routinely addresses such cases.
