Pediatric Head Injuries

Head injuries are especially common in children, and usually result from falls, contact sports and typical accidents of childhood. Most of the time, the trauma is minor and does not result in a serious brain injury or long-term side-effects. However, it is very important to have a child evaluated for a possible concussion following head trauma, even if typical symptoms are not present. Our physicians who specialize in treating pediatric head injuries can provide expert evaluation, medical management and, when necessary, surgical care for infants, adolescents and teens. Our concussion services include neurological evaluation, neurosurgical review including advanced diagnostic imaging, neuropsychological evaluation, neurocognitive testing, return-to-play assessments, and more.
