Thyroid Disorders

Our physicians can diagnose and treat a wide variety of thyroid conditions including hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, goiters and thyroid nodules (most of which are benign). Symptoms of thyroid problems may include fatigue, anxiety, skin and hair changes, sleep disruptions, depression, hand tremors, unexplained weight changes, increased sensitivity to hot or cold, sweating, heart palpitations, bowel changes and menstrual irregularities. You may also notice inflammation at the front of your neck. Diagnosing thyroid disorders may involve a physical exam and complete medical history, blood tests, radio iodine uptake tests, thyroid scans, ultrasonography and/or fine-needle aspiration biopsies.
