Scope of Services
Our rehabilitation centers are here to help you regain function and independence after a serious medical diagnosis, such as a stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, loss of a limb or heart attack. Together, we’ll create a rehab plan that meets your needs and helps get you back to living your best life. Our expert care includes:
- Comprehensive Rehabilitation
-
We treat adults ages 18 and older who meet the following criteria:
- Need for an active and ongoing therapeutic intervention of an intensive interdisciplinary rehabilitative program and can tolerate/participate in therapy at least three hours daily, five days a week, or 15 hours over seven days
- Need for two or more of these therapeutic interventions: physical therapy or occupational therapy and speech therapy
- Requires nursing care/supervision 24 hours per day by a nurse with training in rehabilitation care
- The medical and rehabilitative complexity must require physician intervention and oversight by a rehabilitation physician (physiatrist)
- The mental and physical condition, premorbid and current, indicates the patient has potential for rehabilitation and expectation for functional/practical improvement is reasonable (improvement can be expected in a reasonable period)
- The goals are realistic for patient’s age, premorbid status, diagnosis and expected improvement, including assessment of rehabilitation potential
- The psychological and behavioral status allows participation in the rehabilitation process, regardless of confusion, agitation or behavioral issues due to their neurological injury
- Must have a realistic discharge plan and/or family support system
- Must be able to meet AdventHealth financial criteria
- Patients with a spinal cord injury, regardless of etiology, level of injury or comorbidities are accepted, except for those with complete quadriplegia, and we do not admit patients who require mechanical ventilation
