Six years ago, Ted's life changed forever. At 45 years old, Ted began to experience extreme back pain and profuse sweating. His wife recognized this as the signs of a heart attack and immediately dialed 911. Ted was later brought to AdventHealth Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute. Ted suffered from a severe heart attack which led to a bleak diagnosis of heart failure.

Through the help of the Trina Hidalgo Heart Care Center, Ted has made a significant recovery. A regular patient of the Center for over 6 years now, Ted has regained normal pumping function of his heart and even been able to return to work.

Ted says he would not be where his is today without the Heart Care Center, They saved my life and got me back to work. Now I can support my family and that means everything to me.

Your generosity can change the lives of grateful patients like Ted. When we invest in our communities cardiovascular patients, we save lives.

According to the American Heart Association, Cardiovascular Disease causes 1 death every 40 seconds in America. Rated High Performing in the nation by US News and World Report in cardiology and heart surgery, AdventHealth Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute treats more cardiology, vascular and female patients than any other hospital system in the country, saving thousands of lives annually.

Generosity from the community allows us to extend extraordinary care in the following areas:

The Trina Hidalgo Heart Care Center- provides outpatient medical treatment, medications, disease management education, and medical supplies to uninsured heart failure and cardiovascular patients.

Women's Heart Disease Prevention- prevents heart disease, the number one killer of women, by covering the cost for heart screenings, diagnostic testing, and cardiology care for uninsured high risk women.

Nursing Scholarships- Investing in our nurses ensures exceptional patient care and demonstrates how much we value their professional skills and expertise.
