Generations of Gratefulness

Since our early beginning as the Florida Sanitarium, then Florida Hospital, and now AdventHealth, we still share the same mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ by providing expert, world-class care. Our goal is to treat every person as a creation of God, deserving of whole-person care – mind, body and spirit. Our mission is only possible because of our skilled and compassionate caregivers.

We have over 97,000 doctors, nurses and caregivers who have devoted their lives to caring for patients throughout our community.

For patients like Jeff Sweeney, this day is deeply personal. 50 years ago, Jeff came to visit his sick grandmother at what was known as the Florida Sanitarium. He and his wife celebrated the births of their two sons here. And years later, he found himself back at AdventHealth where his wife received a cancer diagnosis. Jeff became a patient himself when he had a heart attack at his home in Winter Park, just one month after receiving a clean bill of health on his annual physical exam. He was treated by Chin Kim, MD at our Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute and made a full recovery.

“I have never worked with such an efficient, progressive organization that embraces its caring mission. From the nurses and orderlies who took care of my grandmother, to the doctors who delivered my sons, to the team that took care of my wife and me, AdventHealth caregivers are unique. My heartfelt thanks and blessings to you and your organization. You have my greatest admiration and appreciation. I am forever grateful to AdventHealth.”
