ORMOND BEACH, Fla., December 16, 2016 On Dec. 9, the staff at Florida Hospital Oceanside in Ormond Beach donated a truck full of toiletries and bus passes to local women's shelter, WITNEST, an acronym for Women In Transition Now Establishing Support for Themselves.
The Daytona Beach shelter provides decent, safe and affordable housing for homeless, single women and assists in the transition to permanent housing, employment or the pursuit of educational goals.
Between Oct. 3 and Dec. 1, Florida Hospital Oceanside employees donated soaps, hair care products and toothpaste, as well as bed linens, towels and cleaning supplies.
I'm so proud of our Florida Hospital Oceanside team, said Howard Perch, Florida Hospital Oceanside administrator. These women need a safe and healthy environment where they can take the time they need for healing, and I'm so moved by our teams generosity. They truly have taken our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ to heart.
