What to Expect When You Visit the ER
We know you'll probably have a lot of questions when you come in for emergency medical treatments. And we want you to feel confident in the care you receive, so we’ll take the time to answer each one thoughtfully and patiently. We’ll have some questions for you, too, because the more we know, the more safely and quickly we can care for you. First, we’ll ask for basic information like your medical history and the reason for your visit. After taking your vital signs, we’ll decide on the best way to help you heal.
In our Durand ER, we use a process known as triage to prioritize who receives care first. This means we may treat a later-arriving patient suffering from a stroke before a patient in a less critical condition. To help us better serve you, you may want to consider keeping an information card in your purse or wallet. Include information like:- Advance Directives (Like Power of Attorney and Health Care Proxy)
- List of All Your Medications and Drug Allergies
- Name and Number of Your Primary Care Doctor
When we know all the facts, we can deliver safer, faster healing.

If your injury or condition requires further treatment, however, our care navigators will help connect you with follow-up care wherever you live. As part of our mission to provide whole-person care, we're here to not only heal your body. We want to help ease your mind and minister to your spirit, as well.
