As Adventist Health System transitions to the unified AdventHealth network, we're also redefining what it means to provide our community with health care. It's about more than mending what's broken and healing what hurts. It's about compassionate, lifelong, whole-person care for you and your family.

Whole-person care is what our Seventh-day Adventist founders believed in more than 150 years ago when they began their first health care program. It's also what set them apart. In the simplest terms, it's our continued brand promise of caring for you as an individual - in body, mind and spirit.

"They recognized back then that you were created as a 'whole' person and that your mind, body and spirit all needed to be nurtured and cared for to have an abundant life," says Terry Shaw, President and CEO of AdventHealth. "So when we treat people, we want to treat them from a whole-person perspective."

Each and every person is complex and unique. Your needs differ from day to day, moment to moment, and when you undergo a health change, it's more than just your physical body that requires healing. Whole-person care means that while we fight your cancer with advanced treatments and cutting-edge technologies, we also fight your fears and anxieties with encouraging support groups and personal chaplain visits.

It means that no matter what you're facing, team members will guide you through your entire health care journey - making appointments, answering questions and putting your mind at ease.

At AdventHealth, we believe uncommon compassion is as important as any medical credentials. When you're treated with dignity and kindness from world-class experts, you'll not only heal, but become your best self again.

We believe each person is equally deserving of quality medical attention and unconditional love. "Every person, no matter who they are, has infinite value," says Shaw.

"Our organization wants to be a place where the whole person gets care every day, all the time. We want to be the go-to choice for every step in your health care journey."

The AdventHealth mission, extending the healing ministry of Christ, is about meeting you wherever you are with the kind of support you need. We're constantly seeking new ways to serve you better and make your health care experience easier.

Our name change is just the start of this new and exciting chapter. We may have a new name, but we still know yours.
