Ageism Awareness – Reframing Aging

AdventHealth, in partnership with the Council on Aging for Henderson County, is excited to offer a series of community education events focused on the needs and care of our aging population.


Join us to learn about ageism awareness presented by Billie Breeden l. Billie will define the ageism concept and explore scenarios related to ageism. She will identify potential barriers within varied social constructs and suggest strategies on how to address ageism proactively by creating awareness through education.

Billie Breeden serves as the Age-Friendly Coordinator for Buncombe County Health and Human Services, Division of Aging and Adult Services. Billie first began working with seniors as a Meals on Wheels volunteer and later became her mother’s caregiver. Billie decided to pursue her passion for older adults and earned a Master of Science (MS) degree with a concentration in Gerontology and continues her commitment to serve the elder population.
