AdventHealth Hendersonville Earns 17th Consecutive ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group

New Grade for Fall 2024 is a national recognition for commitment to patient safety.

HENDERSONVILLE, NC, November 12, 2024 – AdventHealth Hendersonville is proud to announce that we have once again earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A”, “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them. This elite designation sets the highest standards for patient safety in the United States, and earning a Hospital Safety Grade of “A” recognizes AdventHealth Hendersonville as one of America’s safest hospitals.

The 2024 Fall Safety Grade is AdventHealth Hendersonville’s 17th consecutive “A” Hospital Safety Grade. It also represents another increase in the hospital's numerical score. AdventHealth Hendersonville’s continuous and consecutive top safety score is a reflection of AdventHealth’s commitment to patient safety and ensuring the highest-quality care for every patient, every time.

"Achieving our 17th consecutive ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group is a testament to the unwavering dedication and hard work of our entire team at AdventHealth Hendersonville,” said Brandon Nudd, FACHE, President and CEO for AdventHealth Hendersonville. “This recognition not only highlights our commitment to patient safety and high-quality care but also strengthens the trust our community places in us. We are deeply grateful for the continued support and confidence of our patients and their families. Together, we are building a safer, healthier future for everyone we serve."

“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade is a significant accomplishment for AdventHealth Hendersonville,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It reflects enormous dedication to your patients and their families, and your whole community should be proud. I extend my congratulations to AdventHealth Hendersonville, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts to put patients first.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
