Kenney earned her Bachelor of Science in Cardiopulmonary Science from Edison Community College and went on to obtain her Master of Leadership and Management from the University of Central Florida. She has more than three decades of direct patient care experience and has also held the position of Director of Care Management at HealthPark Medical Center and System Director of Care Management at Lee Health in Fort Myers, Florida.
“The mission and vision of AdventHealth is compatible with my personal beliefs and professional goals. Every encounter I have had with the leadership and support staff is in alignment with the systems written philosophy. This shows a healthy culture that is driven by honorable principles, coupled with keen business practices,” says Kenney. “The leadership appears to have built a culture of caring among their staff that cascades down to the patient. It is a winning combination and I am excited to be a part of it.”
“Barbara has a passion for compassionate care and is committed to developing relationships and processes that best serve our patients,” says Ella Stenstrom, AdventHealth Hendersonville Vice President of Finance and CFO. “I am delighted to have her as our new Director of Case Management and look forward to her expertise as AdventHealth continues to provide exceptional, whole-person care to our communities.”

In her free time, she enjoys spending time reading, exercising, listening to music and spending time alone in nature. Kenney especially values spending time with her children and grandson. When asked what makes her “Feel Whole” she responded, “connecting with Jesus and the life-giving message of love. God’s hand is all around us and I love enjoying the splendor He has created in nature, whether it be at the beach or the mountains.”
