AdventHealth Hendersonville Names New Medical Directors of

AdventHealth Hendersonville, formerly Park Ridge Health, is building on its foundation of exceptional, whole-person care and its commitment to provide access to leading-edge technology to treat orthopedic health needs, by naming three new Medical Directors to its nationally recognized orthopedics program. It has named Robert E. Boykin MD, Medical Director of Shoulder and Sports Medicine Centers, Peter Mangone, MD, Medical Director of the Ankle Center, and Jason E. Lang, MD, Medical Director of Hip and Knee Centers.

Leading the way in many medical firsts for orthopedics in the region, AdventHealth Hendersonville is the first hospital in Western North Carolina to earn The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for the Spine Center of Excellence Certification, and the first to use the Mazor X™ Robotic Guidance Platform, provide partial and total knee replacement using the NAVIO™ Surgical System, implement nanomedicine in the operating room with the NanoLOCK Spinal technology and the only hospital in the region with the Pro-Axis Spine Surgery table.

Dr. Boykin earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and earned his Doctor of Medicine from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. In addition to this, Dr. Boykin is fellowship trained and board certified in orthopedic sports medicine and shoulder surgery. He specializes in disorders of the shoulder, knee and hip in addition to all sports-related injuries.

Dr. Mangone earned his Bachelor of Science from Davidson College. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Mangone is a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, as well as a member of the American Medical Association and the North Carolina Medical Society. Dr. Mangone has more than 20 years of orthopedic experience and has been active in the AOFAS and AANA as well as local and regional medical societies throughout his career.

Dr. Lang earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from Johns Hopkins University and earned his Doctor of Medicine from Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Lang is fellow member of American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons as well as a member of International Congress for Joint Reconstruction and North Carolina Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Lang is board certified and fellowship trained as an orthopedic surgeon. He specializes in hip and knee replacement.
