N.C., AdventHealth Hendersonville Welcomes Nurse Practitioner to Cancer Care Team

Jan. 7, 2021; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. AdventHealth Hematology Oncology Infusion Services Hendersonville* warmly welcomes Brittany Starr Marlor, FNP-C, to its team of providers. Marlor is a certified family nurse practitioner with experience in palliative and hematology/oncology care, most recently serving as a nurse practitioner at Four Seasons – Compassion for Life in Flat Rock, N.C.

“I am thrilled to be joining the AdventHealth Hendersonville’s hematology and oncology service line, which really has the potential to grow and expand in the coming years,” Marlor says. “I am elated that AdventHealth Hendersonville is collaborating with Wake Forest Baptist Health, as this will further assist in providing [our] patients with access to leading innovations in cancer care.”

Marlor earned her Master of Science in nursing and Bachelor of Science in nursing at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn., and her associate degree in nursing at Haywood Community College in Clyde, N.C. She chose to specialize in oncology after caring for a family member with cancer and has a passion for focusing on wellness – in addition to education and counseling – with each of her patients.

“I aim to make patients feel whole by treating them as a person, not just identifying them based on their disease and/or condition,” Marlor says. “I love providing whole-person care as it allows individuals to feel heard and to feel respected.”

Marlor spent her nursing career from 2011 to 2017 working on the inpatient hematology/oncology unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C., before becoming a nurse practitioner. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, especially her husband and ten-month-old son.
