N.C., February 03, 2020 — AdventHealth Medical Group Welcomes New Pediatrician

February 3, 2020, HENDERSONVILLE, NC – AdventHealth Hendersonville is adding to its team of primary care physicians to meet the growing health and wellness needs of the communities it serves and is excited to welcome Nicole Groves, MD, to AdventHealth Medical Group Pediatrics at Medical Office Building.* This care team provides whole-person care – body, mind and spirit – to children from birth through adolescence to help them feel whole throughout their childhood years.

Board-certified in pediatrics, Dr. Groves has been providing direct patient care to children and teens since 2002. For the last eight years she has been providing care in the Asheville and Mars Hill communities of Western North Carolina. Dr. Groves earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minn. She earned her medical degree and completed her pediatric residency training program at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Dr. Groves is an adjunct assistant professor at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics. She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the North Carolina Pediatric Society.

“I chose medicine for the variety of possible career options and then fell in love with pediatric medicine,” Dr. Groves says. “Children and teens are not little adults. Their medical needs and treatments are very different. I am their advocate and pay attention to their physical and mental health along with the socio-economic factors that truly affect children and families. My patients and families can trust me to follow through on what I say I will do.”

To help herself feel whole, Dr. Groves likes to read, swim, play golf, or fit in some power walking and Pilates for exercise. She and her spouse enjoy our region’s incredible restaurants and performing arts when they are not shuttling their twin daughters to activities.
