July 5, 2023; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – AdventHealth Hendersonville is excited to announce a partnership with Mountain Area Pregnancy Services (MAPS) to bring prenatal care resources to women at the MAPS location in Asheville.

Developing ways to provide health care when and where you need it is one of the driving forces behind AdventHealth Hendersonville’s commitment to community wellness. This new partnership means MAPS clients will now be able to meet with an AdventHealth Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) on-site. The client will be able to ask questions and establish prenatal care. The CNM will also help the client avoid scheduling issues and wait times as well as line up future appointments at one of the AdventHealth OB/GYN locations close to the client.

MAPS provides compassionate care to women dealing with issues surrounding an at-risk pregnancy. Our client advocates are specially trained to deal with these distinctive problems for those facing this issue at their point of crisis.

“The women coming to MAPS see us as a safe place and resource to help them. We will be there to support them through every step of the pregnancy and post-partum needs. However, one of biggest challenges is getting them established with prenatal health care,” explains Kristi Brown, MBA, MHA, MACE. “More than 50% of our clients reveal to us that they do not have an OB doctor when they enter our facility. Therefore, having AdventHealth on-site helps them establish care quickly and easily. We are so excited to have AdventHealth’s Certified Nurse Midwife here at our office so our clients can have their initial appointment on-site.”

The OB/GYN team at AdventHealth guides and supports women through their pre- and postnatal care, labor and delivery, postpartum, and beyond. The teams of board-certified providers and specially trained nurses provide a nurturing environment so that patients can experience the best pregnancy and delivery possible.
