McGovern is a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager with experience in managing multiple facilities, including off-site locations, and implementing strategic infrastructure growth processes and procedures.

McGovern most recently served as the Facilities Manager at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Hinsdale in Hinsdale, IL. He started his career working as an HVAC technician, but once stepping into the health care landscape, he realized his calling to serve the community by providing safe, well-functioning facilities for patients and their families.

“I immediately began to see the vast opportunity to contribute to the larger mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ,” McGovern shares. “I go to work each day thankful that I work for an organization that touches so many lives in a positive manner.”

"Joe's commitment to our mission is evident, and his leadership skills will be a great contribution to our work of providing exceptional care across our region," shared Brandon Nudd, President and Chief Executive Officer for AdventHealth Hendersonville. “We look forward to Joe bringing his expertise and commitment to AdventHealth’s highest standards of safety and quality to our team here in Western North Carolina. Joe will lead the Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Security teams at our current facilities. Together they will also support the expanded access to whole-person care at our new medical office building that will include outpatient surgery when it opens at the end of the year.”

McGovern was immediately drawn to AdventHealth and its emphasis on whole-person care. This culture empowers him to prioritize the safety of patients, their families, and team members above everything. He promises to work tirelessly to make sure he and the team he leads deliver the highest level of care.

McGovern is excited to continue his career at AdventHealth here in Hendersonville. He looks forward to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all those he leads. He shares, “After meeting with the AdventHealth Hendersonville team, it was clear that this community is one rooted in faith and passionate about providing the highest quality care for patients and their families.”

McGovern and his wife met in high school. They have four children under the age of 10. When he is not at work leading with compassion, McGovern feels whole by spending time with his family. Together, they all like to be outdoors and play.
