An Early Celebration of New Beginnings for Family Welcoming First Baby of 2024 at The Baby Place at AdventHealth

Jan 1, 2024; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – The Baby Place at AdventHealth proudly announces the arrival of the first baby of the new year, marking a joyous start to 2024. Born at 7:27 am on January 1, 2024, Ezekiel surprised his mom, Kassie Concord and dad, Kevin Gutierrez of Asheville by making his debut a month early.

When Kassie arrived at the hospital, The Baby Place team of nurses and OB Hospitalists determined Ezekiel was breech. The OB Hospitalist program means The Baby Place has a board-certified obstetrician on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For Kassie that meant she was able to quickly have the c-section she needed to safely welcome her healthy baby boy, "I thought was going to be able to do it without a c-section, but he was breeched so we had to have a c-section."

First time parents Kassie and Kevin are thankful for the support of the team at The Baby Place. Kassie said, “I have never been through anything like this. But the nurses and doctors are incredible and helped me through all of it.”

Ezekiel’s family admits they are wondering what great things life has in store for their son that made him in such a hurry to arrive. "I just can't waiot for what's in store. I know he is going to be a handful, but I am ready for it," shared Dad, Kevin. "I know he's ready. That's why he came a month early." Right now, they are thrilled to be getting to know their baby and celebrate his very special arrival to start the new year with great hope and happiness. Kassie explains, "I wondered what his face looked like this whole time. Now I get to see it and he's perfect."
