In addition to our exceptional, board-certified medical oncology physicians and providers, our dedicated and specialized cancer care team supports patients through every step of their cancer journey.
Oncology Certified Nurses
Our nursing team is comprised of Oncology Certified Registered Nurses (OCN). This means that your team of nurses has extensive training and experience caring specifically for patients in cancer treatment and the skills that are needed to support them.
Oncology Nurse Navigation Team
Our team of Oncology Nurse Navigators' goal is to guide patients through their cancer journey, help them overcome obstacles, and provide emotional support. They guide patients with abnormal findings through and around barriers in the complex cancer care system to help ensure timely diagnosis and treatment. They assist patients with referrals to surgeons, oncologists, hematologists, radiation oncologists, specialists, and subspecialists and often make referrals for financial counseling, nutrition and support groups.
At AdventHealth Hendersonville, we are blessed to have six Oncology Nurse Navigators who support AdventHealth cancer patients. One is devoted to breast cancer patients; one to oral cancer patients and four support patients with all other types of cancer as well as patients with other primary tumor sites.
Social Work Team
Our Licensed Clinical Social Workers specialize in oncology and give you one- on-one assistance, so you stay positive even during the toughest moments. Supporting patients and families affected by cancer by providing emotional support, counseling and accessing resources to support them and their care.
Nutritional Services
Our licensed dietitians are available to assess your nutrition and educate you on the unique eating challenges you may face, guiding you to eat better and help make your body stronger.
Financial Counseling
Our financial counseling team works with each patient to create a plan to help you cover the cost of your care. With more resources than ever before, we let you focus on what matters most: your health.
Rehabilitation Services
Cancer treatments can have side effects, like weakened muscles or decreased range of motion. Rehab can help you regain strength and address specific side effects from your treatment. Our rehabilitation team offers therapy and medical fitness to assist patients going through chemotherapy or radiation treatment. Specially trained therapists personalize exercise programs tailored to meet your needs, taking into consideration your prior fitness level, type of cancer and type of cancer treatment you have received or are currently receiving.
Home Health
Get the compassionate, expert care you need, in the comfort of your home. When you need support outside of our clinics, our home care team is available to provide the care you may need at home.
Palliative Care
Caring for you goes beyond healing you. It’s about making you feel better throughout your treatment. Our palliative care staff works with your medical team to reduce symptoms and ease pain.

Our clinical research program is dedicated to finding clinical trials that would be beneficial to any of our patients. They work with our Cancer Services physicians to offer eligible patients the opportunity to receive cutting-edge therapy close to home. Our patients have access to more than 1000 clinical trials addressing a wide variety of disease sites.
- Genetic Testing

We offer Genetic Testing for people who have been diagnosed with or people who are at risk for breast, colon or ovarian cancer. Patients already diagnosed with cancer, or those with a strong family history of cancer, may choose to be tested to determine if they possess genes that could be passed on to their children. People who have been identified as “at-risk” are encouraged to start cancer screening at an early age to increase survival rates

The Breast Centers at AdventHealth Hendersonville serve women who have discovered a breast lump or have an abnormal mammogram and patients who are at high risk of breast cancer.
Our program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons' National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). That means you’ll always have superior breast care delivered in a comforting, woman-focused environment. You will always be in the best care, from screenings and advanced cancer treatments to surgical interventions.

The Commission on Cancer (CoC) is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for patients with cancer by setting and raising standards. They promote cancer prevention, research, education, and monitoring of comprehensive quality care.
National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers
The NAPBC is here to help your facility deliver high-quality care for breast disease that’s available today. We set standards, provide quality measures, offer participation in clinical trials, and more. That includes professional education and patient advocacy along with benchmark comparisons.
ASCO QOPI Certification Program
The Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Certification Program provides a three-year certification recognizing high-quality care for outpatient hematology-oncology practices within the United States.
American College of Radiology Designated Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center
We are honored to be a one-stop, comprehensive high-quality patient experience for breast health. All ACR Comprehensive Breast Imaging Centers offer mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and more. - Advanced Cancer Support Group

Advanced Cancer Support Group
Through discussion and guided exercises, participants explore ways to cope with the challenges of living with advanced cancer and to continue to find meaning and hope. This group is professionally facilitated by a professional clinical oncology social worker and is open to people living with metastatic and/or advanced cancer, regardless of where they live or are receiving care. The program is free, but pre-registration and a telephone consultation with the facilitator is required before attending.
