- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

Your body is slowly doing its job to heal your wounds, but we know healing can never come fast enough. At AdventHealth North Pinellas, we've got hope for accelerated healing through Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). With HBOT treatments, you'll breathe in 100% oxygen under increased atmospheric pressure, which helps to reduce infections and speed healing. You can relax comfortably while advanced computers regulate pressurization and give you the most soothing care possible.
Candidates for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) include those with:
- Diabetic wounds that meet criteria (Type I or II, Wagner Grade III or higher, at least 30 days of standard wound therapy with no success)
- Acute traumatic peripheral ischemia. HBOT is adjunctive treatment when loss of limb, function or life is threatened
- Compartment syndrome and suturing of severed limbs
- Acute peripheral arterial insufficiency
- Compromised skin grafts/failed flaps (wound dehiscence)
- Chronic refractory osteomyelitis
- Osteoradionecrosis
- Soft tissue radionecrosis
