Ransom Memorial Health is proud to announce that the RMH Sleep Disorders Center was recently surveyed by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and received full accreditation.
AASM accreditation is a voluntary process for the assessment of sleep programs. This accreditation reflects the dedication and commitment of the RMH Sleep Disorders Center to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and remarkable care. These standards address core areas such as personnel, facility and equipment, policies and procedures, data acquisition, patient care, and quality assurance. Additionally, the sleep center’s goals must be clearly stated and include plans for positively affecting the quality of medical care in the community it serves.
RMH’s sleep medicine physician, Dr. David Cocanower, diagnoses and treats a complete range of sleep disorders from snoring and obstructive sleep apnea, to insomnia, narcolepsy, and restless legs syndrome. Utilizing the RMH Sleep Disorders Center, RMH is able to conduct comprehensive overnight sleep studies in private, hotel-like rooms.
If you have symptoms such as poor quality sleep, snoring, daytime sleepiness, or never feel rested from your sleep, your primary care physician can order a sleep evaluation at RMH.
