About
Shoes That Fit
Shoes That Fit tackles one of the most visible signs of poverty in America by giving children in need new athletic shoes to attend school with dignity and joy, prepared to learn, play and thrive. The national nonprofit is active in all 50 states and helps over 100,000 kids every year by partnering with individual donors, corporate partners and volunteers.
One-In-Three
In Need
One-in-three kids live in low-income families in the United States and one of the most visible signs of poverty is shoes.
- Millions of children miss school, don’t participate in sports, and are teased and bullied because of worn out shoes.
- Wearing shoes that are old, tight or inappropriate for the activity can cause a child pain, shame and embarrassment.
- A new pair of shoes can be life changing for a child. Self-esteem improves. Attendance goes up. Participation in physical activity improves.
Participating Schools
We will be working toward our goal to donate shoes to 1,166 children in need in the following Franklin County Elementary Schools.
