- Cardiac Rehabilitation
-
After a heart attack or open-heart surgery, some patients feel they will never regain their former levels of energy and physical activity. But our skilled cardiac rehabilitation team works together to motivate and guide patients toward improving their strength, mobility, independence and quality of life.
This expert team is made up of the following:
- Specially trained cardiac nurses
- Cardiac technologists
- Athletic trainers
- Physical, occupational and speech therapists
- Dietitians
The primary goals of cardiac rehab are to restore heart or lung function, improve daily life and get you back to the activities you enjoy.
Patients will learn how to incorporate heart-healthy habits such as a proper diet, exercise and stress management techniques that can lead to a better quality of life.
Cardiac events are life-changing, physically and emotionally. We'll help you embrace your second chance.

- Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy helps patients with temporary or permanent loss of function regain independence and quality of life.
Our occupational therapists (OTs) specialize in caring for people with physical, developmental or emotional challenges. They help them improve their ability to perform daily activities and recommend ways for them to adapt their environments to help them gain more independence.
Our OTs assist patients with daily tasks from eating, bathing and dressing to using a computer, getting in and out of the car or running errands.
We provide a range of occupational therapy services, including:
- Assessment of cognitive and physical abilities
- Goal setting and planning to help patients overcome individual challenges
- Personalized exercises to improve functional ability, strength, range of motion and endurance
- Activities to improve visual perceptual motor skills and sensory-motor processing
- Task modifications and use of assistive devices to promote greater independence
- Progress assessments to ensure goals are being met, with adjustments made as necessary to achieve goals
Our therapists also work with community organizations and outreach programs to help coordinate appropriate care plans whenever necessary.
