The Emergency Department at AdventHealth South Overland Park earned the 2020 Guardian of Excellence Award® by Press Ganey. The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing health care organizations that have achieved the 95th percentile or above of performance in Patient Experience - the second consecutive time AdventHealth South Overland Park has earned this prestigious award. The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a nationally-recognized symbol of achievement in health care. Presented annually, the award honors clients who consistently sustained performance in the top 5% of all Press Ganey clients for each reporting period during the course of one year.
AdventHealth South Overland Park, located at 165th Street and Antioch in the BluHawk Development, opened in 2017. The 24/7 emergency department brings fast, specialized emergency care for the entire family to south Johnson County. In October, AdventHealth South Overland Park began construction on a 193,000 square-foot, 85-bed inpatient hospital designed to provide patients with access to a full suite of hospital and emergency services. The hospital is expected to open in late 2021.
According to Dr. Alan Verrill, chief executive officer of AdventHealth South Overland Park, the award represents an important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding and improving the delivery of care.
“This honor reflects our unwavering commitment to improving the safety, quality and experience of whole-person care we provide to our patients,” said Verrill.
