Shawnee Mission Health (SMH), a member of Adventist Health System, welcomes three new physicians to the Shawnee Mission Physicians Group. Oncologists Abdulraheem Qasem, MD, and Mouhammed Kyasa, MD; and endocrinologist Andrew Green, MD, are currently practicing at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center (SMMC) campus.
Dr. Qasem is certified by the American Board of Oncology, the American Board of Hematology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He completed his Medical Doctorate at Jordan University of Science and Technology School of Medicine in Irbid, Jordan, and his Internal Medicine residency at King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, Jordan. In addition, he graduated from the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC), and served as a resident at Truman Medical Center and St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He then completed the Hematology Oncology Fellowship at UMKC and served as a Fellow physician at Truman Medical Center and St. Luke's Cancer Institute in Kansas City, Missouri, and at Washington University, Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis, Missouri. He also received a graduate certificate in clinical research from UMKC, in which he also served as an assistant professor of medicine at UMKC School of Medicine. Dr. Qasem sees patients at the Shawnee Mission Cancer Center and SMMC.
Dr. Kyasa is certified by the American Board of Oncology, the American Board of Hematology, and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He graduated from the Tishreen Secondary School in Hama, Syria, with a Bachelor of Science and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Aleppo University Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Kyasa completed his residency in Internal Medicine from Huron Hospital Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, and his Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas. Most recently, he served as a staff physician at the Cancer Center at St. Francis Health in Topeka, Kansas. Dr. Kyasa sees patients at the Shawnee Mission Cancer Center and SMMC.
Dr. Green is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts and earned his Medical Doctorate from the University of Michigan's Integrated Premedical-Medical Program. Dr. Green completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Presbyterian-University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Diabetes Association. Dr. Green sees patients at Shawnee Mission Endocrinology and Diabetes, located in the Georgetown Medical Building on the SMMC campus.
