Pulmonary and Respiratory Services Designed to Help You Breathe Easy Again
- Intensive Care Units
-
AdventHealth Zephyrhills offers an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) to support our heart patients. In these ICUs, every second counts, no matter the hour of the day. That is why AdventHealth Zephyrhills has partnered with Advanced ICU Care. Advanced ICU Care works with your doctor to deliver monitoring by highly trained intensivist physicians and critical care specialists 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing an extra layer of care that enhances patient safety. When your doctor cannot be present, Advanced ICU Care Intensivists (doctors with special training in critical care) are always there using special computer technology to monitor your condition every minute of the day.
- Personal Care When It's Needed Most
-
Your doctor will still care for you. Advanced ICU Care works closely with your doctor to complement his or her care plans by making sure you receive the highest level of care. The Advanced ICU Care team of intensivists and critical care nurses work remotely around-the-clock complementing the care provided by the AdventHealth Zephyrhills physicians and ICU team. The program continuously monitors real-time patient vital signs, medications, labs and clinical status. Electronic alerts notify the team when a situation arises that needs immediate attention. The team works with the hospital nursing staff to make sure these situations are addressed immediately, before complications develop. In addition, two-way video access in each patient's room enables face-to-face consultations with bedside physicians and nurses.
At AdventHealth Zephyrhills, we understand how difficult an ICU stay can be for our patients and their families. We are committed to providing the highest level of care and support to reduce the stress and anxiety that often accompany a serious illness or injury. If you have questions about our ICU, we encourage you to speak with your bedside nurse.
- Respiratory Therapy
-
AdventHealth Zephyrhills’ respiratory therapists evaluate and treat all types of patients in need of respiratory care. They provide both temporary relief to patients with emphysema or chronic asthma and emergency care to patients who have suffered a heart attack, stroke, drowning, shock or other ailments.
Our respiratory therapists follow specific, well-defined procedures in accordance with our established protocols, all under the supervision of specialized physicians.
