New Foundation Board Members

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla., March 2, 2017 Florida Hospital New Smyrna has appointed five new community leaders to the Foundations board of directors: Buddy Davenport, Bob Demers, Thomas DeSimone, Alexander Penalta and Richard Rosedale. All are New Smyrna Beach residents and are actively involved in the community. Davenport is the owner of Buddy Davenport Insurance Agency and is involved in the Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce, as well as Kiwanis Club Foundation of Southeast Volusia County, Board of Realtors, and more. Demers is a private business owner and former engineer. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club Foundation of Southeast Volusia County and serves as vice chair for the board at Burns Science and Technology Charter School in Oak Hill. DeSimone is an architect and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). Penalta is an attorney with Penalta & Associates law firm. Additionally, he is a professor and United States Coast Guard Master/Captain. He has serves as chair of the Aviation and National Security Committee of the Volusia County Bar Association and is a member of the FBI InfraGard, a partnership between the FBI and the private sector dedicated to sharing information and intelligence to prevent hostile acts against the U.S. In addition, he serves as chair of the City of Edgewater Police Pension Board. Rosedale is a real estate developer and owner of Rosedale Properties. He is involved with supporting the Blue Ridge Free Dental Clinic in Cashiers, North Carolina. We are very excited to have these new members join the Florida Hospital New Smyrna Foundation Board, said Pat Driver, Florida Hospital New Smyrna Foundation chairman. They are long-time residents and have been instrumental in positive growth for our community.
