Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a form of complementary medicine in which licensed professionals apply pressure to injured, weak or painful muscles and other soft tissues for purposes of increasing flexibility and blood flow, relaxing tense and painful muscles and promoting healing. Licensed physical therapists, athletic trainers and doctors who are trained in osteopathic manipulative treatment can provide this therapy on an outpatient basis to address neck and shoulder pain, low back pain, hip, leg and knee pain, foot pain and arm and hand pain associated with overuse, sports injuries, age and more. It may also be employed in the treatment of conditions such as fibromyalgia, thoracic outlet syndrome, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ), anxiety, sleeping disorders, and more.
