AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida is excited to announce Dave Walker and Lisa Bowen as the September Volunteers of the Month for their philanthropic efforts to spread awareness and raise funds for gynecologic cancer research.
Over the years, Dave and Lisa have raised well over $100,000 to benefit the 113,000 women diagnosed with gynecologic cancer each year in the US. The funds raised are due to the success of their work on three endorsed events, including Golf Marathon, Party for a Purpose - Masters Party, and Teal Magnolia Luncheon
In 2017, Dave formed a non-profit called Playing for a Cause to manage their signature fundraising events that directly benefit AdventHealth’s gynecologic cancer patients. In the past Lisa Bowen, as an ovarian cancer survivor, participated in the 2022 Catwalk for a Cause event at the Daytona 500 Race Week in partnership with AdventHealth and The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation.
We are so grateful for the ongoing philanthropic efforts of Dave and Lisa and the incredible support they provide for those faced with ovarian cancer and other gynecologic cancers.
