AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida recognizes Dr. Moby Kazmi as December's Volunteer of the Month for his hard work and dedication to fulfilling our mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ.

Dr. Moby Kazmi is the President and Co-founder of COPILOT. In this role, he has led the development of some of the most innovative bio-pharma reimbursement HUB solutions which have been specifically designed to overcome access to treatment barriers and improve patient outcomes. Under Dr. Kazmi’s leadership, COPILOT has continued to provide clients with efficient and effective patient reimbursement and clinical support services, illustrated by COPILOT’s 95% same day completion rate of patient benefit verifications. Dr. Kazmi has played an integral role in helping to develop COPILOT’s digital platform and was instrumental in the development of a design that provides healthcare professionals and bio-pharma clients with instantaneous data regarding patient insurance approval. His work has led to COPILOT’s services becoming a cornerstone in the commercial success of many essential drug and device products.

As part of COPILOT, Dr. Kazmi established and drives COPILOT Cares, a charitable initiative that benefits underprivileged children and families around the world through a variety of philanthropic efforts. One of COPILOT Cares’ key investments is the installation of hand pumps for clean water where access is lacking. To date, COPILOT Cares has installed more than 300 hand pumps in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, providing clean water to families on a global scale.

Prior to this, Dr. Kazmi co-founded CareMed Specialty Pharmacy. It quickly gained recognition as one of the nation's fastest growing, privately held companies by Inc. Magazine. By December 2013, annual sales surpassed $250MM. PharMerica, a leading provider of pharmacy services, acquired CareMed in March 2017.

In 2021, the Orlando Business Journal announced Dr. Kazmi as one of its "CEOs of the Year", an honor shared by top executives in the region who make both an economic and community-wide impact. Dr. Kazmi was also recently recognized as one of the National Minority Quality Forum’s top “Forty Under 40” Leaders in Minority Health, due to his achievements in eliminating health disparities. He serves on the Board of Directors for AdventHealth for Children, Bali Memorial Trust, The Noor Project, and Helping Hands Foundation. In addition, he has received several citations from the New York State Senate, the New York State Assembly, the Towns of North Hempstead and Oyster Bay, NY, MLB NY Mets’ Spirit Award, and Entrepreneur and Philanthropist of the Year Award from the Friends for Good Health Organization. He was recognized by the Nassau County Executive for his entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and service as a global goodwill ambassador as well. Dr. Kazmi earned his Medical Doctorate Degree from Avalon School of Medicine and his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University.

In addition to serving as a board member for AdventHealth for Children, Dr. Kazmi also assists with fundraising efforts for the Orlando Union Rescue Mission and AdventHealth West Lakes Early Learning Center.

Dr. Kazmi and his company, COPILOT Provider Support Services, spearheaded Christmas in July at AdventHealth this year by bringing gifts that provided emotional, education and developmental support to sick children while in the hospital. This gift followed their Thanksgiving initiative where they purchased books for each of the 150 students at the West Lakes Early Learning Center for their at-home libraries.

As a father of 3, Dr. Kazmi is passionate about giving back to youth. He says, “It’s important to make an impact when they are young, so their years later on are even better”. When asked why Dr. Kazmi supports AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida, he responded, “Once I moved to Orlando, I wanted to be a part of the community. In order do that, you have to give back.”

AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida thanks Dr. Moby Kazmi for truly representing the idea of giving back to the community!
