Jessica Bickel is being recognized by AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida as a Volunteer of the Month for June! Jessica is an incredible AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida partner and committee member.
In January 2016, Jessica Bickel was diagnosed with breast cancer. Jessica’s primary physician immediately referred her to Dr. Olga Ivanov, a former Oncology Surgeon at AdventHealth. Jessica attributes her first cancer healing miracle to Dr. Ivanov and the staff at AdventHealth. Not long after her surgery, Jessica’s boss and long-time friend, David Koepsell of Chick-Fil-A got involved with an upcoming Pink on Parade 5K race in honor of Jessica and her journey.
“I can honestly say that my very first time participating at Pink on Parade event was surreal! I have never seen so many Beautiful Women in Pink! The energy was infectious and awe-inspiring.”
Jessica continues her connection to the AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida by serving the hospital employees, sitting on the Pink on Parade committee, and her own personal healthcare visits. When she is around, she continues her goal of being a faithful stewardess by making meaningful connections with everyone she comes in contact with such as Clifton, our administrator at the Celebration campus, and Emily, who works with her as the a AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida liaison.
Most recently, Jessica organized a Chick-Fil-A stand to sell food to the AdventHealth Celebration campus where 15% of every purchase goes back to AdventHealth Foundation. It became so successful that Chick-Fil-A is now a staple Wednesday tradition for all who walk through the doors. This initiative has supported our Pink on Parade 5K, Day of Giving, Heart Walk and more!
