The AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida team proudly congratulates Sandra Hemstead on being awarded 2024 March Volunteer of the Month for her remarkable contributions to global health initiatives.

Sandra's journey towards making a profound impact began with a visit to a partner hospital in Nepal, an experience that ignited her passion for humanitarian work with the Foundation. One of Sandra's significant achievements includes spearheading a Rotary grant totaling $69,260, which enabled the purchase of an oxygen-generating machine for a hospital in Iquitos, Peru.

Currently, Sandra is leading another Rotary Foundation grant, which aims to acquire a CT Scanner and generator for a partner hospital in Banepa, Nepal. With a grant amounting to $368,000, this project promises to profoundly impact medical care in the region.

Through her advocacy, Sharing Smiles has been showcased as a strategic partner during Rotary meetings that have a world-wide audience. In her role as Foundation Coordinator, she encourages clubs to lead and support Rotary Foundation Global Grants that work in partnership with Sharing Smiles to bring free cleft lip and palate surgeries to children.

Sandra Hemstead's dedication and unwavering commitment serve as an inspiration to us all. Congratulations, Sandra, on this well-deserved recognition as Volunteer of the Month. Your contributions are changing lives and shaping a brighter, healthier future for generations to come.
