AdventHealth for Children board members Judy and David Jang have been named the September Volunteers of the Month at AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida.
As a speech-language pathologist, Judy has a passion for helping others, especially those with speaking disabilities. David directs the marketing and business development services at Deep Blue Investment Advisors. Dedicated to serving his community, David is a frequent presenter at conferences and seminars, addressing the challenges that face Florida’s many entities.
When David and Judy were looking for a way to impact their community, they became aware of the West Lakes Early Learning Center and AdventHealth for Children. On a tour of the facility before construction was complete, they realized that this Center met all their criteria for an organization that would have ongoing impact. They agreed that this was where they wanted to dedicate their time and giving.
“We feel fortunate that we can give to a project that is local,” said David. Judy added, “Supporting the whole family is what appeals to us. Supporting the Early Learning Center impacts the whole community.”
Currently, Judy is a regular volunteer at the West Lakes Early Learning Center, impacting the lives of our youngest neighbors. In 2021, the Jang’s began hosting an annual golf tournament to support the West Lakes Early Learning Center. In its inaugural event, approximately $35,000 was raised to benefit the Center. Though the venue – The Country Club of Orlando – has limited dates available for this type of event, they are committed to this very special cause.
Volunteers like the Jang’s are an invaluable piece of the support that surrounds the children of the West Lakes community. “It is impossible to quantify the long-term impact,” reflected Judy.
