Patient Resources and Hospital Information
- Pastoral Care
-
A hospital stay can be an unexpected and anxious time. It’s our aim to care for your mind and soul while we help heal your body. Spiritual care is an important part of the healing process.
Our pastoral care team members are available to you and your loved ones during your time with us, providing you with spiritual care and support.
You, your family members and your friends can request a chaplain's visit, and we are also available to assist clergy or other pastors who are visiting their congregants.
- Visiting Hours
-
Your visits strengthen your loved ones, and we want you to feel welcome here. Visitors are welcome at any time. To find out about staying overnight with your loved ones, simply ask a nurse. For more information about AdventHealth Lenexa City Center’s visiting hours, call Call913-934-2000.
- What to Pack for Your Hospital Stay
-
When you stay at our hospital, we want you to feel as comfortable as possible. But when it comes to bringing personal items, we suggest you only pack the essentials and leave valuables, including jewelry and most cash, at home.
Consider packing:
- Dentures with the case and cleaning solution
- Glasses, contact lenses, solutions and cases
- Personal hygiene items you prefer, such as shampoo or toothpaste
- Phone numbers of family and friends
- Robe and pair of non-slip slippers
- Small things that bring you comfort, such as photos, a book or magazine
It’s also helpful to bring certain documents with you, including:
- Copy of your advance directives, like a living will or medical durable power of attorney
- Credit card or check for any co-payment your insurance may require
- Health insurance card(s) for any policy that covers you
- List your medications, with the dose and how often you take them
- Picture identification, such as a driver’s license or state ID card
- Prior test results, X-rays or medical records if your doctor requests them
- Workers’ compensation information, if applicable, including the billing address and claim number
- Planning for Health Care Decisions
-
One way to help your family during your hospital stay is to prepare. By planning ahead, you can prepare for health care problems the way you’d prepare to start college, marry, start a family, go on vacation or retire.
The first step is to consider an advance directive. This is a way to pre-plan your health care before there's a need. An advance directive allows you to tell your family and doctor how you want to be cared for, even if you can't speak.
Download our advance directive booklet to help you proactively plan for health care needs before they arise.
