DELAND, Fla., March 17, 2017 Babies born at Florida Hospital DeLand on March 17 received an extra special gift on St. Patricks Day.
Deltona-based crocheting, looming and knitting group, The Happy Hookers, handmade St. Patricks Day themed hats and booties.
We make hats for the homeless and blankets for patients in hospice, but this was just another way for us to give back to the community, said Nancy Reid, Happy Hookers coleader. After my granddaughter was born last year, I was inspired to bring this idea to our group, and I'm so glad we did. I hope families really do enjoy these handmade hats and booties.
