DELAND, Fla., February 22, 2017 Florida Hospital DeLand has named Mary Young as the new quality manager.

In this role, she will oversee the daily operations in clinical effectiveness for the 164-bed facility, as well as key initiatives related to patient safety and clinical outcomes.

Young has 23 years of experience and has been with Florida Hospital for the last 17 years, working in a variety of roles, including operating room nurse auditor, radiology nurse and nurse abstractor. She most recently served as performance improvement coordinator for Florida Hospital DeLand and was responsible for educating physicians and staff on best practices based on performance improvement data.

Born and raised in DeLand, Young received a nursing degree from Daytona State University in 1993.
