Mallory Davison was awarded Gordon Hospitals prestigious Extra Mile Award. Davison is a pathology assistant and was nominated for her work ethic and her generous actions outside the hospital.

This special award was created by members of the hospitals Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to deserving employees selected by the hospitals directors.

Hamilton Medical Centers facilities director, Paul Celia, had a stroke last month. Emergency medical services activated Life Force from the scene, and he was flown to Erlanger. Pauls wife, Wendy, was scared and didn't know how she was going to get to the hospital. That is when Mallory Davison walked down the street from her parents house to see if there was anything she could do to help. When Wendy explained that she didn't know how to get to Erlanger, Mallory quickly volunteered to take her, even though they had never met before. Mallory even stayed with Wendy at Erlanger until they knew Paul was stable.

actions speak to her personal character and are the embodiment of our mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ, said Amy Jordon, chief nursing officer of Gordon Hospital. It warms my heart to know our mission is being fulfilled outside the walls of the hospital by staff.

Davisons supervisor, Lorie McCamy Jordan, also expressed how proud she is to have Davison receive Gordon Hospitals Extra Mile Award. I want to compliment Mallory on her significant contribution to the pathology department. Her enthusiasm, caring demeanor, and extra hours are appreciated. It takes a special person to work in pathology, and she is just that! I want to congratulate and thank Mallory on a job well done, said Jordan, a histologist at Gordon Hospital.

I am pleased, honored, and humbled to accept this award, said Davison, who has been employed by Gordon Hospital for three years. I am very fortunate to be a part of an excellent organization. Gordon Hospital has been an absolute blessing and I feel privileged to work with everyone here.

Outside of her profession, Davison enjoys playing tennis, exploring the outdoors of Chattanooga with her dogs, Moss and Paisley, and spending quality time with family and friends.
